The Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) of Toronto was established on July 20, 1991. For over three decades, under the guidance of the Venerables and the dedicated devotion of its members, BLIA Toronto has planted the roots of Humanistic Buddhism throughout the multicultural Greater Toronto Area.
BLIA Toronto comprises 24 subchapters across seven GTA regions: Mississauga, Markham, Richmond Hill, North York, Scarborough, Toronto, and Waterloo and surrounding areas. It also includes specialized divisions such as the Young Adult Division (YAD), Scout Group, Radiance Group, and the DaQi, Dajue, and English subchapters designed specifically for Mandarin and non-Chinese speakers — uniting over 3,000 members in fellowship and Buddhist practice.
The Association organizes a diverse spectrum of programs in arts and culture to nurture self-development; educational talks and forums for lifelong learning; and charitable community initiatives that serve society at large. These activities offer a modern, joyful path of cultivation that purifies the mind while harmonizing Eastern tradition with contemporary Canadian life.
Annual Membership Fee ($50 CAD)
Your annual membership contribution supports local educational, cultural, and charitable initiatives across our 24 subchapters.

Please email your banking confirmation details to memfee@blia.ca with your English & Chinese name, Member ID, phone number, and membership fee year for verification.
2. Cheque by Mail
Make cheque payable to “Buddha’s Light International Association of Toronto” and mail to:

3. In Person (Cash)
Pay in person at the temple front desk during opening hours.
Please bring your BLIA International Membership Card. A Toronto Member ID and membership fee year sticker will be placed on your card upon renewal.
