BLIA Subchapter Executive and Management Online Training Workshop

On January 21, 2022, the Buddha's Light International Association Toronto chapter held a “Subchapter Executive and Management Online Training Workshop." The workshop aimed at strengthening the subchapter executive committees' executing and managing BLIA affairs. A total of 103 subchapter counsellors, chapter directors, and subchapter executive committees attended the online workshop.

In the welcome speech, Venerable Chueh Fan, the Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto and the Monastic Advisor of the BLIA Toronto Chapter, shared the Dharma words from Venerable Master Hsing Yun, "​Old age does not mean living many years, but thinking you are old." She emphasized that if we are willing to learn, we are still young. 

Ven.Chueh Fan praised all subchapter executive committees working hard together and actively participating in the BLIA affairs. Everyone not only making progress in life but also making history for BLIA. The abbess emphasized that Fo GuangShan Temple of Toronto and the BLIA will continue to give great effort in improving the network speed and storage capacity to preserve the precious history of BLIA. 

The Secretary-General, Lai Wah Ng, gave an introduction on administrative precautions. She explained precisely how to fill out various forms, the skills of taking photos and videos for event records, and the implementation procedures of the committee meeting. The Deputy Secretary-General, Monica Kong, demonstrated how to make use of the subchapter's email account to improve the coordination among the chapter, subchapter and members. 

The workshop also included introducing the Fo Guang cloud-membership system, the launching of the server and the usage of the cloud accounts. 

Mabel Lam, president of the BLIA Toronto Chapter, commended the completed and integrated contents of the workshop. She also invited everyone to look forwardto the conference lecture given by Venerable Chueh Chung of BLIA World Headquarters on February 20.

In conclusion, Venerable Chueh Fan encouraged everyone not to be afraid of learning and utilizing information technology skills, study extensively, expand the horizon, and strike forward to our common goal.
