To celebrate the hardwork and contribution of Lai Wah Ng

Lai Wah Ng, the Secretary-General of Buddha's Light International Association of Toronto Chapter (BLIA Toronto), after 26 years of service, will retire in February.  On January 28, BLIA Toronto holds an online retirement party to show appreciation.  A total of 168 Foguang people participated.

The guests who attended this unforgettable gathering included the Venerables of Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto, all former presidents, and members of BLIA Toronto. Everyone praised the hard work and contribution of Lai Wah. Moreover, they also expressed how much they were touched by her dependable, determined, warm and organized personality.

The former abbesses of Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto: Ven. Yi Hong, Ven. Yung Ku, and Ven. Chueh Chu, as well as former presidents of BLIA Toronto: Mr. Timo Yu, Mr. Stanely Kwan, Mr. Glenn Chan, and Mr. Ken Choi, shared their unforgettable memories from the past 26-years that they went through with Secretary-General Lai Wah. Ven. Yung Ku gave special thanks to Lai Wah's husband Raymond and her daughters, Jacqueline and Katherine, for their understanding and tolerance over the years. Without their support, Lai Wah wouldn't be possible to devote herself to BLIA Toronto.

Venerable Chueh Fan, the abbess of Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto, highlighted the achievements of Lai Wah. The abbess praises her as a role model for all Foguang people for dedication and faith in one teacher and one path.

Ven. Chueh Fan and Mabel Lam, president of the BLIA Toronto Chapter, on behalf of FGS Temple of Toronto and BLIA Toronto, presented a jade commemorative plaque to Lai Wah in appreciation and recognition for her contribution to BLIA Toronto. The words engraved on it: "26 Years of Developing Broad and Good Affinity with Others; Went Above and Beyond the Call of Duty for Buddha's Light".

Secretary-General Lai Wah thanked the abbess and Mabel for their thoughtful planning, and to everyone who contributed the time and effort for the virtual gathering.  Throughout her serving as Secretary-General at BLIA Toronto, Lai Wah enjoyed the privilege of serving the temple and BLIA members.

“Thank you for the blessings from all Venerable and senior advisors. I am moving towards another golden life stage, and I will come back as a BLIA volunteer soon” said Lai Wah.
