It has been 25 years since the Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto opened in August 1997. To show its appreciation to all benefactors and donors for their continuous support, the Temple organized the 2022 FGS Temple of Toronto Benefactors Appreciation Day on Sept 3rd, the day before the Mid-Autumn Festival. Over 70 benefactors participated.
In her opening speech, the Abbess of FGS Temple of Toronto, Venerable Chueh Fan, welcomed and expressed her gratitude to all benefactors' generosity strengthens the temple's ability to serve the community through cultural, educational, charitable programs, and Dharma services.
The Temple prepared a gift set consisting of Venerable Hui Chuan’s new book, “Soar High and Far,” and mooncakes. At the event, the Abbot of Fo Guang Shan Monastery, Most Venerable Hsin Bao and the President of the Fo Guang Shan Executive Council, Venerable Hui Chuan send their good wishes to all through pre-recorded videos.
During the gathering, Ms. Gloria Kuos hared her personal learning experience as well as the memories of her meeting with Venerable Master Hsing Yun on his first trip to Toronto in 1991. Ms. Winnie Kwong and her son Andrew also shared the happiness of the Fo Guang family.
