Toronto’s Mississauga subchapter 1 & 2 “Annual General Meeting”

On November 19, BLIA Toronto Mississauga Subchapter 1 & 2 cohosted their Annual General Meeting at the Five Contemplations Hall in the temple. Over 160 people attended the event.

Venerable Chueh Fan, Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto, together with Venerable Ru Xing, Advising Venerable of the subchapters and Mabel Lam, the President of BLIA Toronto Chapter also attended the event. During the meeting, several proposals are passed to encourage the members to actively promote the Vege Plan A, to participate in the reading clubs, Chinese New Year celebration, Offering to the Sangha at Hsi Lai Temple and BLIA World Headquarters Meeting, etc. The newly elected presidents, vice presidents and committee members for year 2023 and 2024 were also officially announced during the meeting.

To lift the atmosphere, the organizer especially arranged lucky draws interspersed with the short film "Light of Hope", martial arts performance from Changhuang Li and “Song of Fo Guang Shan” by Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Choir. Everyone was full of joy and appreciation, and thus looking forward to gathering again very soon.
