On Feb 12 and 13, the "2022 Offerings to Buddhas & Celestial Guardians Dharma Service" was jointly held at Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto by the three temples in Eastern Canada- Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal. More than 1,200 people participated online to carry out the prostrate etiquette to thank the compassionate heavenly blessings and protection of the Triple Gem and Dharma protectors.
It is a pleasure to be able to invite Venerable Yung Ku, the Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Temple of Ottawa and New York, to be the service’s Presiding Master for the 2nd year in a row since the pandemic. This year, a total of twelve Guiding Venerables from Eastern Canada temples, FGS Temple of Toronto, FGS Temple of Ottawa, and FGS Montreal Flower Garland Temple, to carry out this Dharma Service.
Venerable Yung Ku thanked the abbess of Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto, Venerable Chueh Fan, for hosting the "Offerings to Buddhas and Celestial Guardians Dharma Service", and leading volunteers to prepare such a solemn service. She praised that the volunteers of the Toronto temple have accumulated more than 20 years of experience, whether it is the food offering team, the flower arrangement team, or the Dharma Department team are all very attentive and careful in detail.
Venerable Yung Ku explained that the Dharma Service allowed us to present our offerings to Buddhas and Dharma protectors, but the most important meaning of the Dharma Service is that it provided us with the opportunity to request the teaching of the truth. Through learning the Dharma and applying the Dharma into daily life, we can improve our lives.
In conclusion, Venerable Chueh Fan reminded everyone that, " The significance of learning the Dharma is not only benefiting oneself but also to benefit others; let us spread and share our Dharma joy to people around us."
