On March 9th, the Mississauga 3 and 4 subchapters of the Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) Toronto hosted the "2024 Members Spring Gathering" at the Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto. Over 80 members, accompanied by their families and friends, participated in the event.
The gathering commenced with a warm welcome speech by the subchapters’ Guiding Monastic, Ven. Yong Kang. She emphasized that every BLIA member has two homes - One home is the individual's physical dwelling, while the other is the spiritual abode - Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto. Those who had the opportunity to participate in BLIA are considered fortunate and blessed individuals.
Subchapter President Ben Feng and Vice President To Nu Du led everyone in singing the songs from "Sounds of the Human World" collection and wishing everyone could embrace the beauty of each season: spring, summer, autumn, and winter, living with contentment daily.
A graceful Yuanji dance performance and a theatrical performance of Su Dongpo's "Eight Winds" anecdote captivated the audience. Attendees were encouraged to cultivate goodness through actions in daily life. The gathering concluded amidst the singing of the Four Verses of Buddha's Light.
