In the afternoon of December 26, 2022, BLIA Toronto Da Tzu Subchapter 1 held their 2023 Outlook Conference and Year-End Gathering in the Tea House at the temple. Subchapter members felt honored to have dinner with six venerables to celebrate the holiday. The 3-hour event left a happy and unforgettable time in everyone's heart.
The dinner party was held in potluck style. Venerable Chueh Fan, Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto, gave a warm welcome and encouraged everyone to treat the temple as their "home", the home of Dharma body and wisdom. Also she invited everyone to come “home” at any time. Moreover, to help the members relax, Abbess joyfully led the group to sing "Song of the Four Giving".
Next, Venerable Man Long, the Guiding Venerable of the subchapter, introduced the five young volunteers who resided in the temple recently. They shared their gratitude to the temple for providing them the opportunity to learn and grow. It’s a precious experience in their life journey. After the speech, Venerable Man Long also performed the Chinese verse using two different tones: Blossoms in Spring; Breezes in Summer; Glorious moons in Fall, and Snow in Winter. When one is held back by nothing, Every moment can be wonderful.
Emily Wang, the president of the subchapter, introduced every committee member and their family. So that everyone can get to know each other a little better. At the end of the event, all the Venerables greeted the kids, and the Tea House was full of warm and joyful laughter.
