BLIA Toronto Markham Subchapters’ Annual General Meeting

November 20, 2022

On the afternoon of November 20, 2022, BLIA Toronto Markham Subchapter 1, 2, 3 cohosted their 2022 Annual General Meeting. There are 70 members including the special guests who attended this very first in-person event since the pandemic, in spite of the snowy weather. Agnes So and Katherine Li,  the presidents of the subchapters, made a speech thanking the members for their active participation all the time and their support and encouragement. Then, the subchapters shared the 2022 work and financial reports.

Mabel Lam, President of BLIA Toronto Chapter, Kevin Cao and Kim Chan, Vice Presidents of BLIA Toronto Chapter, together with other committee members offered their guidance. Venerable Man Long, the Guiding Venerable of the subchapters, expressed that she was so happy to see the new members and she hopes that everyone will work together to practice the Three Acts of Goodness and the Four Givings. As BLIA members, no matter whether it’s an in-person event or an online event, we should treat them the same and participate in both. Even though it is snowing outside, with the Buddha's Light shining inside, our hearts are warm and blissful. Every member was joyful and cherished the cozy time spent together, looking forward to the next gathering in the Year of the Rabbit.
