On September 9th, Bonnie Poon, a Toronto BLIA-YAD member, and William Deng were married at the Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto. They invited Venerable Chueh Fan, the Abbess of the Temple, to be their wedding officiant. Besides their family members, all Venerables and Fo Guang people who are close to Bonnie attended the ceremony and sent their warmest wishes to the newlywed couple.

The bride and the groom received blessings from the Buddha in the Main Shirne. Venerable Chueh Fan reminded the happy couple that marriage is an ongoing process of creative learning where the wife and husband need to learn how to love and respect each other in good times as well as to tolerate and cherish each other in adverse situations. Every attendee felt very proud to share this beautiful moment in life with Bonnie, especially volunteers and YAD members who have known Bonnie since her childhood.
