The morning of June 11th, 2023, marked an important event of the FGS Temple of Toronto Chinese School - the graduation ceremony for the school year 2022-2023. The conference room was adorned with over 60 teachers, students, and parents, all gathered to reflect on the exciting activities and fruitful accomplishments throughout the school year. The remarkable growth of the students was a source of immense joy and satisfaction for both the teachers and parents. 

At precisely 10 a.m., the graduation ceremony unfolded in the enchanting melody of “Song of Fo Guang Shan”. Venerable Ru Xing, the Advising Venerable of the Chinese School, began with a touch of humor, reminding both the students and parents that the mission of Chinese School extended beyond imparting Chinese language education. It also strived to cultivate in students the traditional values of Chinese culture, such as filial piety, respect for teachers, and compassion towards the elderly and the young. 

The ceremony continued with the “Classroom Activities Video”, immersing everyone in a retrospective journey through the entire school year. The video not only showcased the students’ diligent learning moments but also captured the joyful times of Halloween festivities and heartwarming scenes of the Mother’s Day flower presentation. The room was filled with laughter and joy. 

Following the video, the teachers from the preschool, conversation, basic, and advanced classes took turns walking up on stage to present graduation certificates and honor certificates to the students. Each class seized this chance to capture memorable photos. In between the award presentations, the host skillfully arranged a “Fun Trivia Game”, igniting the students’ enthusiasm as they eagerly raised their hands to participate.
