Spiritual Care Group Held the First “Coffee Time”

With the improvement of the pandemic, Toronto Buddha's Light Spiritual Care Group held their first counselling meeting “Coffee Time” on March 11th. Venerable Miao Mu and Stephanie Hong, a professional psychological councillor attended the first coffee time and provided guidance pertaining to the Spiritual Care matters. All the attendees mesmerizing the session while enjoying the sumptuous desserts prepared by the temple. Together they explored the meaning of “Spiritual Care” and learned how to apply the wisdom of Dharma into their daily life. In addition, they also learned how to adjust their emotions in life. 

The founding of the Spiritual Care Group was due to the recent pandemic which has caused depression to a lot of people. Some of them have lost their relatives and friends. Venerable Chueh Fan, the Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto, has invited Stephanie Hong to start a support group, “Buddha’s Light Spiritual Care Group.” The purpose of this group is to provide better spiritual care for BLIA members. The training commenced in February 2021 and it has been conducted for 10 consecutive weeks and followed by monthly online meetings.
